Celebrate a lifetime of contributions by older adults at the twentieth annual Senior Celebration Day to be held at Randhurst Shopping Mall, Mt. Prospect IL on Wednesday, May 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be free health screenings as well as many senior services information booths. The Secretary of State Photo ID Unit will be issuing ID cards. Live entertainment on The Main Stage will include the Ask the Doctor's Panel, Trivial Pursuit, a Zumba demonstration and a variety of entertainers. There will be hourly prize drawings with a grand prize drawing for a $250 gift certificate at 3:00 p.m. It should be an exciting day for people of all ages, so plan to spend the day. The Volunteer Center of Northwest Suburban Chicago and its Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) are among the sponsors for this celebration.
The 21st Community Paint-a-thon will be help on Saturday, September 6, 2008. Forms are available to sign up to help paint the exterior of homes owned and occupied by seniors with limited financial resources or those permanently disabled. Last year, twenty-three homes in the Northwest suburbs were painted with 540 gallons of paint by 450 volunteers. A Photo Gallery contains pictures from the event.

This program is designed to recognize and honor as many of our community heroes as possible -- citizens who volunteer selflessly and caringly in an ongoing effort ot make our community a better place to live for our citizens.
The Volunteer Center of Northwest Suburban Chicago (TVC) is pleased to announce the success of the BABY SHOWER Project. Its main goal was to help support needy infants and assure them the strong nutritional start that is essential to their on-going good health by meeting the desperate need for powdered baby formula experienced by impoverished families in this area.
