Professional Development Workshops

The Volunteer Center of Northwest Suburban Chicago is pleased to present a variety of workshops designed to keep your staff current with best practices for effective volunteer management, technology and management support services.

Member agencies are invited to send a representative to attend 2 workshops per fiscal year. Additional workshops cost $30 each per person. Non-member cost is $60 per workshop.

With the exception of the onsite computer training, all workshops are held at:

Onsite Computer Training
New this year! Need help with some aspects of Word or Excel? Would you like one or more of your staff trained at your site? Each hour of training is given for the price of a workshop. Call for details and to schedule the available 2008/2009 dates listed below. Onsite training is provided by Joe Cesario, retired software trainier. Time scheduled by appointment.

The Volunteer Management Training Series, sponsored by The Points of Light Foundation is a high quality, comprehensive series of six courses in volunteer management. Curriculum has been updated to include resources and summary information from Betty Stallings “55 Minute Workshop Series”. Sessions based on national research and most effective practices in volunteer management are quick moving and interactive. A personal certificate of achievement can be obtained after completing all six workshops and passing an open book test.
